設計師Paul Smith倫敦防疫「想台灣」　親拍影音、手寫卡片送暖

更在印有他最愛的兔子專屬徽章卡片上（徽章中多達六只手袖的西裝外套更揭示 Paul Smith 不受設限的玩心），寫上對粉絲們的關懷「在這個艱難時刻，我的心與台灣的朋友同在。獻上『愛』與祝福。（My thoughts are with all my friends and customers in TAIWAN during these difficult times. I send all my love and friendship.）」，不但以紅筆畫上大大的愛心，並強調句中的“love”字眼！希望還能維持正常生活的台灣粉絲們，能抱持正向樂觀的態度面對疫情。

收到遠在倫敦居家防疫的 Paul Smith 真誠而貼心的祝願，著實令人感動不已！筆者想起這週在台灣掀起性別平權的「粉紅口罩」議論，除以《男生不敢用粉紅色？那你便錯過擁有孔劉、蘇志燮、李棟旭等帥歐巴的魅力》一文分享心中想法以外，此刻送暖的設計師 Paul Smith，正是熱愛色彩、尤其愛用粉紅色的男子！信手翻閱過去設計，除了其經典的彩色條紋是主要識別外，粉色西裝、T 恤幾乎每季可見，更把美國洛杉磯梅爾羅斯大道（Melrose Avenue）上的店鋪，刷上整片粉紅牆面，成為 LA 現今著名的必拍網美景點。

Shop America is a book I’ve been inspired by since I first got my hands on it in 2007. It’s about mid-century shop fronts in America and is about the effect that post-war optimism had on creativity. A lot of the designs in the book are hand-illustrated and sketches, some of which became reality and others didn’t. After the horror of war there was this surge in futuristic style shop fronts which oozed personality and colour. It coincided with a similar trend in the automobile industry where there was this boom in popularity of oversized, space-age looking cars like Cadillacs. I wonder if we’ll see a version of this in creativity after the current global crisis. One page of the book that I particularly love is one that shows a jewellery store concept. Underneath the facade sketch is a detailed explanation of what the entrance doors are made from, designs for the jewellery display units and more. I love this level of detail. I may not use reference books like Shop America literally for inspiration but can often use them as resources for colour, scale, proportion, use of materials and much more. #findinspirationineverything #takenbyPaul

I’ve always been fascinated by the design of postage stamps. You can learn so much about the history of the place they represent or a particular moment in time from this tiny piece of creativity. I have quite a big collection of old stamps some kept in beautiful albums others in little stacks tied with string and kept in a tin box. A few season a go I took some inspiration from my stamp collection and created my own stamp designs which I collaged together and used for textile prints. #findinspirationineverything #takenbyPaul
